Electronics Supply Chain Association Symposium, Demand 3, to Provide a Lean and Six Sigma Panel Discussion, with Factory Logic's CEO Speaking on: Lean Electronics Manufacturing Is In Demand

April 14, 2004 - Austin, Texas.
Industry leaders gather in San Jose to discuss demand planning, demand forecasting and market demand as the Electronics Supply Chain Association (ESCA) presents its annual spring symposium, Demand3, April 20-21, 2004 at the San Jose Doubletree Hotel. The event is a unique gathering of electronics supply chain professionals from leading companies who will address the changing needs and best practices in demand planning, demand forecasting and market demand.

According to recent research among the Electronics Supply Chain Association constituency, the single most important factor facing electronics professionals is managing and predicting demand. Many electronics companies are also going back to basics with proven business initiatives like Lean Manufacturing. As a part of the spring event, the ESCA will review why these "tried-and-true" programs are making a resounding comeback, albeit in updated forms.

Allan Wilson will speak on why there is a renewed focus on Lean Manufacturing and the results a Lean Operation can provide. Tuesday's presentations will be followed by a Lean panel, moderated by Daniel J. Slater, President of Performance Solutions at RWD Technologies. The Lean discussion will include the following companies: National Semiconductor, Factory Logic, Arrow Electronics, PeopleSoft, UPS, Oracle and SAP.

More information about Demand3, as well as a program agenda, is available at the ESCA web site: www.electronicssupplychain.org.
